The different ways of progressing a natal chart in time are unique in that they are at once timing techniques for seeing when certain themes might be active in our lives and they add a layer to the natal chart, so they also pertain to self-knowledge.
There are many ways of progressing a natal chart. Secondary progressions are my main focus. Secondary progressions progress the chart one day forward past birth for every year lived. Progressions are a rather fractal perspective on time. Fractals are parts of the whole that are almost identical to the whole. Our world is full of fractals. As above, so below. As within, so without. As on the 32nd day after you were born, so on the 32nd year after you were born.

Cancer is a yin, cardinal, water sign. Its animal representative is the Crab. It used to be aligned with the constellation of The Crab.
When the sun moves into tropical Cancer, it is directly above the Tropic of Cancer, its northernmost reach. After the Cancer ingress, which is always the Summer Solstice, the sun starts its descent back southward until it reaches the equator at the fall equinox and then the Tropic of Capricorn, its southern-most reach. So the start of Cancer season is the Peak Yang energy of the Height of The Sun, the Summer Solstice, but immediately afterwards, it begins its descent, and that is Cancer season, a Yin energy. Body parts associated with this sign are The Breasts, The Stomach and The Womb. The Moon is the planetary ruler of Cancer. Like the moon, which fills up and empties rhythmically and predictably, so do the breasts with milk ( a food), the stomach with food, and our wombs with life. Thus Cancer is, in terms of the spiritual, representative of the Primordial Womb from which we all emanate. And, in the physical sense, Cancer is associated with food. Survival. That which sustains us physically and emotionally. In modern times, money is the second-best replacement for FOOD. Like the moon, and our bellies, our wallets and bank accounts tend to fill up and empty with rhythm too. Its difficult to store food for too long, but money, does not decay and thus can be stored long-term, for generations even, or hoarded. Cancer's association with money can be illustrated by examples such as the USA being a Cancer sun nation and for a long time considered the richest nation in the world. Also things like the fact that the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 feature Pluto, Mars & Neptune in Cancer. The sign of Cancer is also associated with the idea or concept of the Homeland or Nation or Nationalism. Lana Del Rey being a 0* Cancer Sun and one of her first big hits was "National Anthem". The chorus is about money too, "Money is the anthem/of success/everybody knows it/kiss kiss". So Cancer I cant even! The video was released while the Sun was in Cancer and is a little mini-film starring her as Jackie Kennedy and starts with a depiction of the JFK assassination. This brings me back to Cancerian Clannishness. Clan/Nation/Homeland/Home/Hearth/Family ... One more thing. Cancer Men. Cancer men LOVE women. They love the female body and everything about it. More than any other sign I've seen. These are the men that do not shy away from the things the female body does that many men find gross or scary. One cancer man I knew was the son of a gynecologist, for example, lol. Another one I knew put his wife's tampon in a glass of sprite and drank it. And in good scorpio fashion, that is the thought I will leave you with, haha! |
